Ingredients
- 4 oz (1/2 cup) good quality margarita mix
- 2 oz (1/4 cup) blanco (silver) tequila
- 1 oz (2 tbsp) triple sec or orange liqueur
- 0.5 oz (1 tbsp) fresh lime juice (optional, but recommended)
- Approximately 1.5 – 2 cups ice cubes (adjust to desired thickness)
- Coarse salt for rim (optional)
- Lime wheel or wedge for garnish
Instructions
- 1. Prepare Your Glass (Optional): If desired, moisten the rim of your margarita glass with a lime wedge and dip it into coarse salt. Set aside.
- 2. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a high-speed blender, combine the margarita mix, tequila, triple sec, and fresh lime juice.
- 3. Add Ice and Blend: Add the ice cubes to the blender. Secure the lid and blend on low, gradually increasing to high, until the mixture is completely smooth, thick, and slushy with no ice chunks. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides.
- 4. Taste and Adjust: Carefully taste the margarita. Add more lime juice for tartness, agave nectar for sweetness, or a splash more tequila if desired. Blend briefly to combine.
- 5. Pour and Serve: Pour the frozen margarita into your prepared glass. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge and serve immediately.
