Ingredients
- 2 Pints Cherry Tomatoes
- 4–5 Cloves Garlic, minced
- 3–4 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1/2 Cup Fresh Basil, chopped
- 1/2 tsp Salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper (or to taste)
- Optional: Pinch of Red Pepper Flakes
- Optional: Drizzle of Balsamic Glaze
Instructions
- Prep Ingredients: Wash cherry tomatoes. Mince garlic. Chop basil.
- Sauté Aromatics: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant; do not burn.
- Cook Tomatoes: Add cherry tomatoes to the skillet. Increase heat to medium. Season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until most tomatoes have burst (8-12 minutes). Gently press any remaining whole tomatoes.
- Simmer: Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-10 minutes to allow flavors to meld and sauce to thicken slightly. Taste and adjust seasonings.
- Finish with Basil: Remove from heat. Stir in fresh chopped basil. Drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired. Serve immediately with your favorite pasta.
