Ingredients
- 2 pints (about 4 cups) cherry or grape tomatoes
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, roughly chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- 1. Prepare Ingredients: Wash and lightly prick cherry tomatoes. Mince garlic.
- 2. Sauté Aromatics and Tomatoes: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes (if using); sauté 30 seconds until fragrant. Add cherry tomatoes, increase heat to medium-high, and cook 5-7 minutes until tomatoes burst.
- 3. Simmer Sauce: Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally and gently mashing some tomatoes.
