Description

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 pints (about 4 cups) cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp salt (plus more to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (plus more to taste)
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Cooked spaghetti or your favorite pasta, for serving

Instructions

  • 1. Prep Ingredients: Wash tomatoes and mince garlic.
  • 2. Sauté Garlic: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant. Do not burn.
  • 3. Burst Tomatoes: Add cherry tomatoes, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the pan. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally and gently pressing some tomatoes with a spoon, until skins burst and juices release.
  • 4. Simmer & Season: Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • 5. Finish with Basil: Remove from heat and stir in fresh chopped basil.
  • 6. Serve: Toss immediately with hot spaghetti or your preferred pasta and enjoy!
