Ingredients
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 pints (about 4 cups) cherry or grape tomatoes
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped or torn
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes (if using); sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Increase heat to medium; add cherry tomatoes. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 8-10 minutes until most tomatoes have burst.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing flavors to meld and sauce to thicken.
- Remove from heat; stir in fresh basil. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Serve immediately over your favorite pasta.
