Ingredients

  • 2 pints (about 4 cups) cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, roughly chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 lb spaghetti or pasta of your choice

Instructions

  • Prep Ingredients: Wash and halve larger cherry tomatoes. Mince garlic and chop basil.
  • Sauté Aromatics: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium. Add garlic and red pepper flakes (if using); sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Cook Tomatoes: Add cherry tomatoes to the skillet. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tomatoes burst and break down into a sauce. Gently press some with a spoon.
  • Season & Finish: Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat, stir in most of the fresh basil. Serve immediately over cooked pasta, garnished with remaining basil.
