Each year we set ourselves several challenges. In 2005 it was to create a new Kitchen Garden in an area of wasted space. Although the results were not pretty–we always seem to be working when weeding needed to be done–the garden has continued to supply us with fresh produce into the new year. Although the garden is small and much of what we grow ends up on our own plates and in test-recipes, some of our produce manages to find its way onto the plates of our clients.
In 2006 we will be continuing to add to the Kitchen Garden, as well as constructing a hoop-house greenhouse to extend our growing season. We are also planning to increase our flock of laying hens and quite possibly raise some meat birds again.
