Week of March 7th--Photos

Rock wall begun, corner by ramp--mid-week.
Before finishing stone work and tilling
Stone work finished and tilling done. Tomatoes, Zucchini, Basil and Cilantro will probably be planted here. Strawberries are mulched by the straw on the right. We will probably plant a hedge and nasturtiums along the top of the rock wall.
Center of herb bed--mid-week. Sample hurdle done.

Sunday Afternoon. Permanent herb beds. Hurdles are finished, planting has begun and sawdust defines the paths. In the background the pitch fork is resting in freshly tilled ground. This area was mostly clay and bull grass. With heavy tilling and picking over and lots of composted horse manure we are hoping it will produce root crops.
Rock wall in background.
Compare this with the photos on pages 4, 5, & 7.
Hops trellis/fence with withies planted behind kiwis.
Still no gate.
