Garden Midsummer

The potatoes thrived in this location.
Simple home made wire hoops and bird netting kept the Strawberries safe from everything but the kids. . . .
This red fabric is supposed to achieve better Tomato yields. I hope so. We've also placed the plants in the hottest part of the garden.
Rocket flowers are not only beautiful, but a great addition to salads and as a garnish.
Borage is another flower I love to have in the garden, which is a good thing because it always self-seeds.
A summer wind storm knocked our peas over and they became a hopeless tangle.
Beautiful and edible.
More Borage at the top of the stone wall. The bench is a great place to sit above the garden and podcast, but watch out for the bees. . . .
Nasturtiums are another culinary flower which frequently self-seeds. They are tremendously hardy--some hung around until a December frost took them out.

A bed ready for a change of plants. The onions will stay until their ready--salad greens will be perfect here. When everything is ready to come out the next time we'll have the whole bed to plant again in late Summer crops.
Black Currants are a rare commodity these days unless you grow them yourself.
Some of the first harvest.
